Deionised (or demineralised) water is water close to its purest state (water at conductivity of less than 10 microsemen). As such it acts as a natural solvent and is fairly unstable, wanting to dissolve minerals in order to become stable again. Therefore, for many applications (such as hospitals, labs, production etc) point of use 'final stage' units are a useful addition to ensure a high water quality. At Advanced Water Treatment we supply a wide range of deionisation equipment, from twin bed deionisation to mixed bed cylinders, to point of use and colour change systems. Our deionisers can also be incorporated into part of a custom solution by our expert team of engineers.


Twin Bed Deioniser

These are designed to produce an ongoing supply of deionised water. All systems use only high quality components and use chemical regeneration to maintain high quality deionised water.

The range of twin bed deionisers use composite vessels consisting of a polyethylene inner with GRP outer shell. The vessel is complete with internal collection and distributors and filled with high grade cation and anion resins. Depending on the unit size, they are either fitted with multiport control valves, or actuated valves, both of which automatically dilute the regenerant chemicals used during the regeneration of the beds. The vessels are connected with ABS pipe work and fittings.

The quality of the treated water is constantly monitored by the calibrated conductivity probe. The units automatically regenerate when the quality of treated water drops below a set point. The PLC initiates the regeneration sequence automatically drawing in the regenerant chemicals and flushing, before returning to service.

Mixed Bed Cylinders

Our cylinders are available for sale or for hire/rental. These cylinders provide single use deionised water. All systems use only high quality components and are designed to provide high quality deionised water.

The range of Deionisation Cylinders use a mixed bed resin to provide high treated water qualities. The Industrial range of deionisation cylinders are generally used in the production of purified water for manufacturing. The Industrial Range of Deionisation cylinders treats water to between 1 µS/cm and 50 µS/cm . This quality can be maintained by re-circulating the water around a loop and back through the cylinder.

The cylinders provide water from 0.3 to 2.4 m3/hr (300 to 2400 litres/hour) to a high grade treated water quality. The quality of the water is constantly monitored by the calibrated conductivity probe (supplied separately). Please do call on 01366 387003 for more information and pricing.

POU (Point Of Use) and Top Up Systems

Our cylinders are available for sale or for hire/rental. These cylinders provide single use deionised water. The system uses colour change resin so at a glance you can see when you need to replace your unit.

The cylinders are ideal when low volumes of high quality water are required i.e. Forklift battery water, General rinsing, Laboratory and General Manufacturing.

With the Top Up range of deionisation cylinders generally water with a conductivity between 5-50 µS/cm is obtained. The flowrate that can be achieved varies from 150 litres per hour to 600 litres per hour depending on the model you choose. The units are wall mountable and must be fed with clean mains water.
